With a toast to the Queen, royal-themed quizzes, and Union Flags everywhere, Guinness Care had a joyous bank holiday weekend!
About the Platinum Jubilee
A platinum jubilee is a celebration to mark a 70th anniversary. Earlier this year, Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. To mark this momentous occasion, four days of celebrations took place across the UK between 2nd – 5th June.
So, of course, we had to join in!
How did Guinness Care celebrate?
In Glossop, Robinwood Lodge got their thinking hats on (or should we say crowns!) and partook in a royal-themed quiz. In Derby, as well as a buffet, residents at Harold Court were lucky enough to have some original coronation day newspapers on display. And over at Hanover Court in Cinderford, staff went all out by making stocks and throwing sponges at each other!
Across the country, there were countless cream teas and sandwiches enjoyed by our residents as well as so many other activities. There might have been a healthy debate about whether to put the jam or cream on first… Our bet has to be on the cream!
From garden parties to raffles, and BBQ’s to concerts, all in all, customers and colleagues throughout Guinness Care had a wonderful time celebrating The Queen’s 70-year reign.
A big thank you…
We have so many Jubilee photos it would be impossible to share them all… but we want to say a big thank you to everyone who sent in the lovely photos and made our celebrations a huge success!
What a wonderful Jubilee weekend it was!
