Housing - Rising to the Dementia Challenge

Don’t miss Wendy Wells, Head of Policy and Business Implementation at Guinness Care, who will be talking at an upcoming event discussing the importance of dementia friendly housing.

Housing providers, commissioners, developers and designers all have a key role in ensuring that housing is rising to the dementia challenge.

On 23 June 2022 at 12:00 – 15:30, Wendy Wells will be joining a line-up of key speakers in London to discuss the importance of ensuring buildings are designed to be dementia friendly. This event is organised by The Dementia and Housing Working Group.


About this event

The event will feature a line-up of inspiring speakers over an afternoon of fast paced discussion. The aim will be to leave everyone with ideas and inspiration that can improve housing offers, the services commissioned and the buildings designed.

Speakers will touch upon a range of topics – the voice of people living with dementia, the work that the Dementia Housing Working Group have been doing on the APPG recommendations on housing and dementia, examples of good practice and the role of technology and design.

The Dementia and Housing Working Group

Guinness is a member of the Dementia and Housing Working Group, which brings together a wide range of stakeholders to focus specifically on housing and dementia.

The group promotes the role of the housing sector in enabling people with dementia to live independently, in a suitable home environment in accordance with their needs and aspirations.
